In Pursuit of Whales documents a 12 year photographic journey by Pam and Wayne Osborn following their passion for whale conservation. Images are from the Azores, Western Australia, The Great Barrier Reef, The Arctic Circle, Tonga and the Banda Sea.
Species in the book include sperm whales, sei whales, blue whales, Bryde’s whales, humpback whales, minke whales, pilot whales, orcas and dolphins. Underwater and topside images are represented.
Wayne & Pam donate their images to whale researchers and have documented the migration of humpback whales along the Western Australian coast since 2006 and photographed 3,429 individual whales.
In 2004, Wayne was appointed an International Fellow of the New York based Explorers Club in recognition of his long-term interest in the marine environment. He was the Australian Geographic Australasian Nature Photographer of the Year in 2012.
